1st Prototype: Electricity From Solar, Sewater and Gravity -No fossil fuels or Fission

February 10, 2016

We are pleased to note that the first large-scale project to generate electricity around the clock using solar energy, seawater and gravity is now under construction in the Atacama Desert in northern Chile. While it bears some similarities to the design we have long recommended, it does not make potable water, a precious commodity anywhere. But the project is nevertheless a game changer as it relies entirely on freely available resources whose prices cannot be controlled by any corporation, society, state or cartel. In addition, the potential to use solar energy to produce hydrogen from electrolysis of seawater to make potable water and to generate energy as a byproduct (not the other way around) without dumping more carbon into the atmosphere or creating poisonous nuclear waste remains intact.
